Hyattsville’s upcoming city council agenda for Monday, October 7 is light on financial items, with the city council asked to approve the purchase of two new police cars for an amount not to exceed $117,362. The city has $15,000 in grant money to use towards the purchase because the cars are electric. Recent police vehicle purchases have been followed by council approving additional equipment purchases, called “upfitting,” for the vehicles from Frontline, adding to the overall cost of new vehicles.
